How to Blur Your Messages and Chats on WhatsApp Web

Using web WhatsApp when you are in the office or at work isn’t a good idea, as there is a high risk of others glancing into your chats and messages. You may not know but there is a browser extension for WhatsApp Web that blurs out your contact names, profile pictures, and/or messages or chats on the chat list. The Browser extension name is WA Web Plus, which enhances WhatsApp privacy and adds extra helpful features.

How to install WA Web Plus Extension on Chrome

1. Go to the Chrome Extension store.
2. Search for WA Web Plus for WhatsApp and click on add to Chrome button.
3. After Successfully adding to Chrome, you should see a new shortcut for the extension pop-up on the toolbar.

How to use it:

1. Click on the WA Web Plus extension on the toolbar to launch WhatsApp or you can directly go to Whatsapp web on a new tab.
2. Now click on the WA Web Plus extension again to launch the extension’s menu.

3. You should now see all WA Web Plus extension features. The first three features will let you Blur your messages and chats on WhatsApp web.

Other useful features of the WA Web Plus extension

WA Web Plus extension is not only limited to blurring your profile photos, chats, and messages. It has several other useful features which will save your day like there is a feature that lets you put password protection to your chats. Some of the features are below but not limited to.

1. Play audio messages without informing the sender (allows you to listen to audio files without letting the sender know)
2. View status without informing the poster (allows you to view the statuses without letting the poster know)
3. Disable/hide Blue ticks (It will hide the blue tick for your friends even when you read their messages)
4. Hide typing status (Your friends won’t be able to see your typing status)
5. Hide online status (It will hide your online status from your friends means your friends won’t be able to see you online)
6. Recover deleted messages (You can recover the deleted messages of your friends)
7. Highlight online contacts (Current online contacts will be highlighted in the chat list)
8. Notify about online contacts (You will get top-up messages when your friends are online)
9. Enable the status download button (Allows you to download your friend’s status videos)

There are several other features are there, in other words, you will simply find all the features that are offered in GB or FM WhatsApp in this single WA Web Plus extension. And unlike those apps, this is safe to use.

Note: Unfortunately this extension only works on Chrome browser and some other browsers which use the same engine (Chromium). So it won’t work on browsers like Firefox and Safari.
